On Saturday afternoon the team was called to assist a a fallen climber at High Tor, Matlock.

Derby MRT team were already in the area on a training exercise and were able to quickly assist the climber was was able to walk to the waiting ambulance.

As Buxton Mountain Rescue Team members were arriving on site, it was quickly realised that the call out would be over fairly quickly,so a quick stand down was issued, enabling team members to return to their afternoon activities….

The team responded to a call for assistance for the third time in three consecutive days to the same part of Kinder Scout, late afternoon on Thursday 2nd January 2020

The first call out of 2020 wasn’t long in coming after the last call out of 2019.

The Team’s last call of 2019 began at just before 5.00 pm in the evening on New Years Eve.

Just as everyone was getting ready for their New Year Eve celebrations, the team received a callout to look for a missing walker, unsure of their location and somewhere on Kinder Scout. At the time, fog and low cloud meant the visibility was down to a few yards.

A full team snatch call out mid afternoon was initiated to assist an injured walker, somewhere in the vicinity of Mam Tor. At the time, the exact location of the casualty was not known. With a few minutes 16 team members were en route to Mam Nic car park.

The Rescue Team volunteers were called mid afternoon via the North West Ambulance Service following a report of a young male mountain biker who had injured himself whilst riding in the forest.

The injured rider, supported by his friends and the Rangers managed to get close to a road where the ambulance crew could treat his injuries and get him into the ambulance for onward transport to hospital.

The team was called to a lady who suffered a leg injury while walking with friends in Monsal Dale.

When the team arrived, the casualty was being treated by paramedics. The casualty initially wanted to walk out of the Dale with help and support, but was advised to accept the assistance of the team who had prepared for a stretcher evacuation.

She was placed onto a mountain rescue stretcher and wrapped in a casualty bag to keep warm. She was carried to the road head and the waiting East Midlands Ambulance …

The team was called to assist a lady who had slipped on a grassy slope at the Mam Nick area of Mam Tor, while walking with friends.

The Team were called to support colleagues in Edale Mountain Rescue Team, following a request from Derbyshire Police to help recover a walker who had slipped in very muddy conditions and injured their ankle.

The walker was part of an organised walking group and was unable to move out of Abney Clough due to a very painful injury.EMRT team members were on scene within twenty minutes of the initial callout and were able to give initial first aid and treatment, followed by a muddy carry off through the clough to the road….
