Buxton team members at base following an exercise were called to assist Kinder team in the evacuation of a 72 year old male from Shaw who had become unwell suffering with chest pains.  One vehicle with crew of 5 was deployed direct to scene, and further members along with Kinder team and an EMAS paramedic provided back up. Buxton and Edale teams with 3 search dogs called to search the Southern Edges when a 19 year old female from Nottingham became separated from the other 15 in her party.  The group from Nottingham University were on the Kinder Plateau to practice navigation.  A search of all the escape routes across both sides of the plateau was initiated and the missing female was located by a Buxton section on Broadlee Bank, cold and a little frightened by her experience.  The remaining 15 had actually split into 2 groups, 10 who …

Search dog Cap called to assist in the search detailed in incident under team log, Nov 1st 08

Search dogs Megan and Cap called with three other search dogs to assist Edale team to search the Burbage Valley after South Yorkshire Police had received reports of cries for help coming from the plantation area. Although no one had been reported missing the informant was genuinely concerned. Given the cold weather it was agreed to search the area.  This was Cap’s first operational incident and despite an extensive search lasting 4 hours across some difficult terrain, nothing was found.

Buxton Edale Snatch Squad called to assist in the evacuation of  a 63 year old female from Harpenden, Hertfordshire. Out walking with her husband she had slipped on wet grass whilst descending the footpath between Mam Nick and Blue John Cavern. She had sustained an injury to her left ankle and was immobile.    She was treated on site by ambulance service paramedics and team members, packaged and evacuated by stretcher to the roadside and transferred to the waiting land ambulance to be taken to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport for further treatment.
