Incident report

Search dogs Megan and Cap called with three other search dogs to assist Edale team to search the Burbage Valley after South Yorkshire Police had received reports of cries for help coming from the plantation area. Although no one had been reported missing the informant was genuinely concerned. Given the cold weather it was agreed to search the area.  This was Cap’s first operational incident and despite an extensive search lasting 4 hours across some difficult terrain, nothing was found.

Five minutes after getting home, whilst Cap’s “dad”, dog handler Malc was settling down for a quiet brew, Cap was stood with his ball wanting to play.  This boundless energy is the reason why so many of our search dogs are selected from this breed.
