Two walkers had camped high on the Kinder plateau, but overnight the weather took a turn for the worse with torrential rain and high winds. The pair felt a little out of their comfort zone and rightly phoned for help from Mountain Rescue.
The team willingly responded and met the walkers as they descended via the Grindslow Knoll footpath into Edale.
A walking group had set off to enjoy a day in the Peak District National Park, but as the party were passing through Chee Dale, a member of the group slipped and painfully injured their arm.
The team responded and once the casualty was provided with strong pain relief, they were placed onto the mountain rescue stretcher. The evacuation was a little tricky, carrying the stretcher over boardwalks and a narrow bridge, to the awaiting East Midlands Ambulance Service, at the Millers Dale car park.

A group of walkers was out enjoying the Dane Valley, when one of the party slipped and fell awkwardly, injuring their head and the side of their body.
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust, was the first to respond and provided the initial medical care. Buxton Team members also responded and assisted with transporting the casualty to the ambulance for onward care in hospital.

Joint call out with Edale Mountain Rescue Team (EMRT) at Barber Booth. Requested to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) with an elderly gentleman who had been out walking and fallen and injured their right ankle. First aid provided by EMRT.
Patient given strong pain relief, ankle splinted and then placed on a mountain rescue stretcher for the carry out to Small Clough Farm where an EMAS ambulance took him onto hospital.
A call was received to respond to a climber who had been bouldering between the pinnacle and the track at Froggatt.
Edale Mountain Rescue Team cover this area, but they were already committed on their second call out of the day so Buxton team was requested to attend.
Edale sent some available resources to the incident, and when team members arrived on the scene, the casualty had been assessed by an East Midlands Ambulance Service rapid response paramedic and ambulance personnel.

Just after 4pm, the team was contacted by Derbyshire Constabulary to an injured walker next to the Monsal Trail just below Monsal Head.
A walker was enjoying an afternoon walk when he slipped and injured his lower leg. When team members arrived on the scene, they administered Entonox as the casualty was encountering a high pain-score. After the pain subsided, the casualty was placed onto a mountain rescue stretcher. As temperatures were rising heading to mid-afternoon, the team was called to a walker who had been reported as collapsing towards the top of Grindsbrook Clough. As with all midweek call-outs, Edale Mountain Rescue Team was also tasked.
Vehicles were quickly despatched from both Dove Base and Buxton Fire Station.
On arriving in Edale, team members were shuttled to the Nag’s Head pub, and then continued on foot. Temperatures were now reaching the low 30s and, with no wind, this made for an extremely unpleasant walk up the valley….
Team members were heading to bed after a fun-packed day at the Buxton Carnival when they were called out.
A group of walkers had been enjoying Lathkill Dale when one of the group aggravated an old ankle injury.
The group attempted to walk the casualty back to the road and their car but was making extremely slow progress. A local dog walker met the group and raised the alarm!

Team called out to a walker who had got lost on Wild Moor, Goyt Valley.They were staying in Buxton for a couple of days and had decided to have a walk around the Goyt Valley. They started off on a footpath which then faded out. They walked to a high point to see if they could find a direction to follow but became more disoriented. They rang Derbyshire Police and asked for our assistance. They were soon located, given warm clothing and walked off to a waiting vehicle.
A walker out enjoying the Three Shires Head tripped whilst crossing the bridge. As a result, the casualty suffered a head injury, which resulted in reduced consciousness.
A silver The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award group, witnessed the accident and raised the alarm by climbing out of the valley to obtain a phone signal.
The group’s supervisor is a member of Buxton Mountain Rescue and, after making sure the team was called out, made his way to the casualty site to commence medical care.
