Incident report

The team was called out just before midnight on the 6th August by Derbyshire Constabulary to assist with the search for a vulnerable missing person in the area to the east of Buxton.

A number of sections of team members were deployed to search areas along the Monsal Trail and adjacent locations, with the search going on through the night until 0530hrs. the following morning. This allowed team members to return home for a couple of hours sleep before the search was resumed on Friday morning along with our colleagues from Derby Mountain Rescue Team. The teams were searching for nearly a further 4 hours when the search was called off.

We were delighted to hear that the missing person was located, on the second day of searching, by a Mountain Rescue section and passed over to the care of the Police and family members.
