Incident report

Buxton and Edale rescue teams called to rendezvous at Odin Mine near Castleton following the report of an injured walker somewhere under the Mam Tor ridge.

A female from Doncaster out walking with a group on a fundraising event had slipped injuring her ankle.  Edale team was still packing up from a previous call-out and so had hill members immediately available who located the casualty above Woodseats Farm.  She was treated for a fracture to her ankle and carried back to the farm on a stretcher for transport to hospital by a land ambulance.  Buxton MRT’s primary role was to provide transport from Woodseats for the rescue members who had attended the original rendezvous at Odin Mine.  Other team members were stood down on route.
