Buxton Edale snatch squad called to evacuate a 48 year old female from Sheffield who slipped on the muddy path and sustained a fracture to the ankle. The casualty was treated on site by team members before being evacuated by stretcher to the roadhead. Due to very heavy workloads, EMAS did not have any road ambulances available and the casualty was transported to hospital using Buxton Mobile 2, its first stretcher case.

Goyts Moss

Buxton team were called to locate and evacuate a 70 year old male from Hale, Cheshire who whilst walking with his wife and friend had slipped on a greasy muddy path and fallen heavily. He sustained leg and shoulder injuries and was cold when we arrived. He was treated on site by team personnel and evacuated by stretcher for more than one kilometre across Goyts Moss to the waiting ambulance at Goyts Clough Quarry. He was then transferred to the Macclesfield & District General Hospital for further treatment.

Buxton Edale snatch squad called to evacuate a 57 year old male from Thurlby who had sustained a recurrence of an existing knee condition. The casualty was, met, escorted off the hill and checked over by one of the MR doctors before being driven back to his car with rest of his party.

Long Cliff, Castleton

Buxton Edale snatch squad called to evacuate a 52 year old male from Bromsgrove, West Midlands, who had slipped on the footpath across Long Cliff and sustained an injury to his right lower leg. He was treated on site by ambulance service paramedics and a mountain rescue team doctor before being evacuated by stretcher to the waiting ambulance at Speedwell Cavern and transferred to the Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport for further treatment.

Mam Tor Old Road

Buxton Edale snatch squad called to evacuate a 67 year old female who had been walking along the bridleway when she was blown off her feet by strong winds sustaining nasty facial injuries. After treatment on site by EMAS paramedic, she was evacuated by stretcher to the roadhead and taken to Stepping Hill Hospital for further treatment.
