Windgather Rocks

Buxton Kinder snatch squad called to evacuate a casualty who had slipped and sustained a lower leg injury whilst walking on the top of Windgather.  A paramedic in attendance had called for an air ambulance and early members to scene assisted with a short carry to the aircraft.  The remainder of the team were not needed and were stood down.

Hollins Cross

Team members attending the PDMRO regional crag training day were called to assist a 14 year old female who collapsed whilst undertaking her D of E expedition.  The casualty was treated on site by EMAS paramedics before beig carried 500 metres to the roadhead.  As there were over 25 members at the crag training day, a full team page was not required.

South Head

Buxton team called to back up Kinder team following a report that a 12 year old had sustained a back injury whilst out with a party of 29.  In light of the large party size, it was felt that a multiple team attendance was in order.  The team were stood down on arrival at Kinder base when it was established that the casualty who had suffered a leg injury had been evacuated by air ambulance to Chesterfield.

Cats Tor

Buxton team called to evacuate a 14 year old female, part of large supervised group from an outdoor centre, who fainted and struck her head when falling to the ground.  The casualty , who was conscious throughout but dazed was treated on site before being evacuated to the roadhead by air ambulance.  After an examination by paramedic, the casualty was taken to Macclesfield hospital for further observation.

Ladybooth Brook, Edale

Buxton and Edale snatch squad called to Edale Youth Hostel to evacuate a 29 year old female walker, from Oxford who was located in the Upper Moor area.  She was hill walking with family and friends and descending towards the Youth Hostel when she slipped and fell ca 4 metres into a grough sustaining injuries to her right knee, immobilising her.   She was treated on site by paramedics and team members, given pain relief before being packaged and placed on a stretcher and taken to …
