Buxton Edale snatch squad called to evacuate an 83 year old male from Ashbourne who had slipped whilst descending the footpath and sustained injuries to his upper right arm, he was a member of a party of 16, who were walking part of the Limestone Way.  After treatment on site by EMAS paramedics and rescue team personnel the casualty was evacuated by stretcher, some of the ground was very rocky and the path surface was polished limestone through use, making it a difficult surface to negotiate safely with a stretcher.   …

Crowden Head, Kinder Scout

Buxton Edale snatch squad called to evacuate a 19 year old female who had suffered an asthma attack whilst on a D of E expedition.  The casualty was airlifted by air ambulance to Wythenshawe hospital.

Worksop, Nottinghamshire

Volunteers requested to assist in the ongoing search for a 56 year old vulnerable male who had gone missing from a Nursing Home in the Worksop area some days previously.  Members of Buxton, Edale and Derby teams assisted Nottinghamshire Police in a planned intensive search of the surrounding area.  Sadly, a body matching the description of the missing male was found in an area searched by members of the police task force.

Middleton by Youlgreave

Buxton snatch called to evacuate a 54 year old female from Sheffield who fell ca 2 metres down a walled bank when a sprung gate flipped back.  The casualty who had also been briefly unconscious had pain in her left shoulder and upper chest and was treated on site by MR members before being evacuated by stretcher to the roadhead where she was taken to Chesterfield Hospital with a suspected dislocation of the left shoulder.

Millstone Edge

Buxton team called to back up Edale team who had been called to a fallen climber on Millstone Edge. A lead climber took a fall and decked out when the fixed peg he was using as protection sheared and failed. The team was stood down en route when it was clear Edale had sufficient personnel to deal with the incident.
