A537 Buxton to Macc Road

Team members returning from training rendered first aid to a female who had been injured when the car she was passenger in struck a second vehicle which had lost control and spun in the road.  The female sustained head and facial injuries and was treated until the arrival of the ambulance service.

Lathkill Dale

Buxton team called to assist a party of seven who had been descending into Lathkill Dale, when a 38 year old female, from Watnall, Nottinghamshire, slipped on the wet limestone and fell sustaining injuries to both her ankles.  Unfortunately she fell onto her 14 year old daughter who sustained a knee injury, both were immobile.  They were both treated on site by one of the team doctors and loaded onto both team stretchers.  As there were 2 casualties, Edale Team were also called to assist with the evacuations.  Both …

Pyms Chair, Goyt Valley

Buxton team members marshalling a fell race in the Goyt Valley were alerted that a male in his late 40’s was apparently unconscious in a car at Pyms Chair.  Buxton Mobile 1 attended the scene, updated Derbyshire police directly using the Airwave radio system which the team is trialling and attempted to gain access to the vehicle which had been locked from the inside.  Upon the arrival of the ambulance, entry had to be forced and the unconscious male was transferred to the waiting ambulance for stabilisation and further treatment….

Ravens Clough, Upper Derwent

Buxton Edale snatch squad backed up by Glossop were called to Fairholmes, Upper Derwent after two walkers from a group of five from Norwich had walked to a local farm and called for assistance when a 24 year old female in the group sustained an ankle injury walking in the Ravens Clough area.  The two other group members stayed on site, erecting  a tent and keeping the casualty warm.

Southern Edges Kinder Scout

Buxton and Edale teams following a request for assistance from a family of 4 from Long Eaton who had set off on a circular walk of the Southern Edges. The party became concerned when the weather closed in and their 1 year old became cold and unwell.  Telephone contact between the party and mountain rescue narrowed the potential search area down to above and East of Edale.
