Kinder Scout

Buxton Team, together with Kinder MRT and two search & rescue dogs were called on Saturday night to search for three people stranded in darkness on the Southern side of Kinder Scout.

Solomon’s Temple, Grin Low, Buxton

A full team call out for a 58 year old lady from Two Dales, Matlock, who had been walking with her husband and two friends when she slipped on the steep wet grass.  An East Midlands Ambulance paramedic was the first to respond but it was quickly realised that the mountain rescue team would be needed to locate and evacuate the casualty in darkness.

Team members rendezvoused at Grin Low caravan park where they were met by the casualty’s husband and the ambulance crew.   The lady, who had sustained suspected fractures to the tibia and fibula …

Winnats Pass near Castleton

A joint Buxton and Edale Snatch Squad call-out to assist a 48 year old lady from Sheffield who had slipped on the steep sides of Winnats Pass.

Team members rendezvoused at Speedwell Cavern for a short but steep climb to the casualty site.  The lady, who had a suspected lbroken lower leg injury, was treated on site by team members and helli-med crew. She was then carried by stretcher to the waiting South Yorkshire Air-ambulance for the short flight to a Sheffield hospital.
