Cave Dale, Castleton
A joint Buxton Edale snatch squad was called to assist the ambulance service with a injured person in Cave Dale.
The casualty, a 61 year old man from Hull, had slipped about 1 metre down the slopes of the grassy limestone terrain after climbing up the steep banks of a small cliff. He sustained a suspected broken ankle. He was treated on site by paramedics and then carried about 300 metres down the footpath by stretcher to the road.
A waiting ambulance transferred him to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, for further treatment.
