Grindsbrook Clough
A joint Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue Team snatch squad was called to Edale village in the afternoon to assist in recovering an animal.
The casualty was a 10 year old greyhound, a pet dog belonging to a family from Beverley, East Yorkshire. They were all walking along the southern Edges of Kinder Scout, when the greyhound slipped on a narrow section of the path above Grindsbrook Clough. It fell about 25 feet over the rocky escarpment, landing on the steep ground below. The dog remained motionless for some time, prompting the family to seek assistance.
