Ramblers annual help totals £1,000
Many mountain rescue teams depend on outdoor clubs and societies to help with the financial burden of running the voluntary service – and non more so than the Buxton team. The team is always grateful for the numerous donations it receives from rambling groups and climbing clubs. The donations are often individually quite small sums raised at a special event or the surplus of an annual membership subscription, but when added together over the years they form the backbone of funding for the team.
A recent donation of £200 from Marple District Rambling Club brought the total help from this individual club to over £1,000. during the past few years.
In times of diminishing contributions to charities and during a rather expensive upgrade project of the team’s equipment, the support is especially appreciated.
Many, many thanks to the members of Marple District Rambling Club and to all the other club and society members who help keep the region’s rescue teams afloat.
