Following a presentation to The Macclesfield Castle Rotary Club, its members elected to donate £200 to the rescue team.Rotary

The presentation was entitled, “The History of Mountain Rescue” and was delivered by team member and co-author of a book by the same title, Roger Bennett.  The talk and slide show followed a meal at Macclesfield Golf Club which was attended by around fifty Rotary members.

The Rotary Club supports many good causes and it was a great surprise to the team that the donation was so generous.   The money will go directly into the New Vehicle Appeal Fund and will be ring-fenced for communication equipment.

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team sends a huge “Thank You” to the club for its magnificent support.   Support from local people and organisations is the life blood of the rescue team and the financial help is truly appreciated.  However, it’s the knowledge that the work of the rescue team is acknowledged and appreciated by the local community which means so much to the team members.
