If you think you have walked a few miles during 2019 then spare a moment to look at the website of Beth Wickes who since the 3rd Oct 2018 has walked over 2785 miles, mostly around the coastline of the UK. Beginning at the
TowerRNLI in London, Beth set out on her journey to raise awareness of the work of the RNLILowland Rescue and Mountain Rescue England and Wales, and to raise as much money as possible for them to continue with their vital work supporting the community. Beth Foot Forward charity coastal walk

This week Beth dropped in on Buxton Mountain Rescue Team to spend a little time with us talking about our work, to receive one of our support team t-shirts, and then to attend our Christmas ‘end of term’ party and quiz.

The next stage of her journey will see Beth walking towards the east coast to the Humber, along the Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex coastline before finishing back at Tower RNLI.

Comment from Beth on her Facebook page………..

Last night I visited Buxton Mountain Rescue Team‘s base then joined them in their traditional Christmas quiz night. Normally everyone chips in £1 which is donated to the winning team (often then going back into the rescue’s funds) but this time they donated it to my event. Thanks to everyone for that, and also for making me welcome, for the fun evening and the T-shirt ?

Richard Doran BMRT Media (L) and Rick Mobbs BMRT Chairman (R) present Beth with her
T – Shirt prior to the Quiz evening.
