Coming Up: 16th Emergency Services Display Day in Buxton

Free fun for all the family! Wriggle through a mock cave, climb on board a fire engine, explore the Smoke House Tent.

This great day out is a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes of the work of the Police, Ambulance, Fire, and Rescue Services. The day also showcases other organisations that work in partnership with the emergency services in the Peak District and High Peak including:

  • Mountain Rescue
  • Cave Rescue
  • Search and Rescue Dogs Association
  • Air Ambulance
  • Community First Responders
  • Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service
  • Community Save A Life
  • Neighbourhood Watch
  • The Peak National Park Authority, and more…

There will be static displays by each of the emergency services where you can ask questions, pick up information, tips and advice, or take a look at their specialist equipment and vehicles. Throughout the day there will be arena displays, with a simulated road traffic accident, and a fire call.

There’s plenty of fun for the children, plus quizzes with instant prizes, face painting and more besides.

Bringing a little “glamour” to the day will be a marching display performed by Buxton’s “splendidly” uniformed and “immaculately” drilled troupe, the Billerettes.
