Buxton Kinder Snatch squad called to the country park following reports that a female on a rope swing had fallen into a ravine. The teams were stood down on arrival when it became apparent that the casualty had already been evacuated by the ambulance crew assisted by the fire service.
Buxton Edale snatch squad called to assist EMAS paramedics in the evacuation of a 56 year old female from Orpington Kent, who had sustained an ankle injury whilst in the public area of the cavern. The casualty was treated on site by the paramedics and evacuated by stretcher to the waiting ambulance and taken to Stepping Hill Hospital.
Buxton team initially called to search for a missing male from a local school who had become separated from the remainder of his group on an expedition for his GCSE in Outdoor Pursuits. The nature of the incident changed when the male rung in on the 999 system stating he had hurt his ankle and was making his way towards Panniers Pool. Buxton, Edale, Kinder and SARDA put on standby when a couple rung in having become lost in the mist on Kinder Scout. Search dogs still in the area after training were deployed and after being put on standby, Buxton, Edale and Kinder teams were also called to assist in the search. The couple were located safe and well by one of the search dogs and escorted off the hill to safety.
Buxton Edale snatch squad called to evacuate a 71 year old male from Danbury Essex, who slipped on wet grass and sustained a dislocated shoulder. The casualty, who was less than a mile from the end of a 4 day walk along the Limestone Way was stabilised on scene by EMAS paramedic and a team doctor before being carried to the air ambulance for transport to Chesterfield Royal hospital.
Buxton, Edale and SARDA called to search the Southern Edges when a party of three from Solihull who became lost in failing light and had rung in by mobile phone. The party who had a map, but no lighting or compass, were located safe and well in the upper reaches of Crowden Brook and escorted off the hill by a Buxton section and one colleague from Edale team.
Buxton team called to evacuate a 74 year old male from Wakefield who collapsed with chest pains whilst walking on the Limestone way near Middleton. The casualty was treated on site by EMAS paramedics and evacuated to Chesterfield by Air Ambulance. The casualty’s wife and the remainder of the walking party were escorted off the hill by team members.
Buxton team called to assist an EMAS ambulance crew to evacuate a 42 yr old female from Northwich, who was walking with a friend across a steep grass bank, when she slipped on the wet vegetation and fell/rolled some 30 feet down a rocky outcrop, sustaining an injury to her right lower leg which left her immobile.
She was treated on site by the EMAS Paramedics and loaded onto our stretcher and evacuated a short but tricky evacuation to the waiting ambulance, near to Aldery Cliff. She was then transferred to the Macclesfield District General Hospital for further treatment.
Buxton tem was called to Edale, following a call for assistance received from a Duke of Edinburgh group from Sutton in Ashfield, lost after walking on Kinder Scout. Mobile phone contact was soon established and following a conversation about their route and what they could see around them before it became dark, their location was thought to be on the South Western side of Kinder Scout. Buxton Team called a point near to the confluence of the Highmoor Brook and Rabb Clough to assist in the evacuation of a 29 year old male from the Higher Sutton area. He was being treated by paramedics for chest injuries after he was thrown from his quad bike which ran away from him whilst he was gathering sheep and slipped down a steep grass slope overturning at the bottom and throwing him out.
