Incident report

While out for a walk around Tittesworth Reservoir one member of a party jumped across a small stream, but unfortunately landed in soft mud resulting in a tumble and a lower leg injury.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the scene, and a request made to the Midlands Air Ambulance to evacuate the casualty. Buxton MRT was called to assist, and vehicles were deployed from our bases to the Tittesworth. The casualty was transferred to the helicopter landing site with the help of local outdoor instructors before evacuation to hospital for further treatment.

Team members then returned the vehicles to base, for Covid-19 cleaning and preparation for the next callout.

We wish the casualty a swift recovery and return to complete the walk around the reservoir, one of the area’s great outdoor attractions.

Our thanks also go to those on the scene who offered assistance in the evacuation of the casualty.
