Three Shires Head

Buxton team initially called to search for a missing male from a local school who had become separated from the remainder of his group on an expedition for his GCSE in Outdoor Pursuits. The nature of the incident changed when the male rung in on the 999 system stating he had hurt his ankle and was making his way towards Panniers Pool. Southern Edges, Kinder

Buxton, Edale, Kinder and SARDA put on standby when a couple rung in having become lost in the mist on Kinder Scout. Search dogs still in the area after training were deployed and after being put on standby, Buxton, Edale and Kinder teams were also called to assist in the search. The couple were located safe and well by one of the search dogs and escorted off the hill to safety.

Cave Dale

Buxton Edale snatch squad called to evacuate a 71 year old male from Danbury Essex, who slipped on wet grass and sustained a dislocated shoulder. The casualty, who was less than a mile from the end of a 4 day walk along the Limestone Way was stabilised on scene by EMAS paramedic and a team doctor before being carried to the air ambulance for transport to Chesterfield Royal hospital.

Southern Edges, Kinder

Buxton, Edale and SARDA called to search the Southern Edges when a party of three from Solihull who became lost in failing light and had rung in by mobile phone. The party who had a map, but no lighting or compass, were located safe and well in the upper reaches of Crowden Brook and escorted off the hill by a Buxton section and one colleague from Edale team.
