Dog handler and navigator called to assist Woodhead MRT and Edale MRT with an ongoing search for a vulnerable male in the Warncliffe Woods/Don Valley area of Sheffield. We were stood down en route when the missing person turned up at his home address.

Team members marshalling the Christmas Cracker Fell Race were called to assist a 57 year old male runner from Hazel Grove who slipped and fell on sheet ice sustaining a shoulder injury. The casualty was treated by team members and transported by team ambulance to the race control for onward transport to hospital.

Belper

Dog handler and navigator called to assist Derby team in the search for a 77 year old vulnerable male who had gone missing from a local nursing home the previous day. A 5 hour search of a number of areas proved negative and the search was stood down when police located the missing man outside the search area after dawn the next day.

Marsdon to Edale Fell Race

Buxton, along with several other teams and search dogs put on seearch standby for a missing female who had not checked on any of the checkpoints after registering for a fell race from Marsden to Edale. Due to the large potential search area, worsening weather conditions and lack of sightings, a number of teams and the search dogs were alerted.

The team was stood down about an hour later when local police enquiries located the woman safe and well at her home in Matlock. She had not told the organisers that she had decided not to compete.
