Buxton Edale snatch called to locate and evacuate a group of 4 females plus 1 dog from Merseyside that set off on a walk from Edale and fell into difficulties when one of the party, a 37 year old female started to suffer abdominal pain having recently undergone a surgical procedure. The party were quickly located by team members and the casualty carried off by stretcher to the youth hostel.
Buxton Edale Snatch Squad called to evacuate a 15 year old female from Bamford who collapsed whilst walking with a friend. After treatment on site by MR doctors, the casualty was evacuated by stretcher to the roadhead and taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital by ambulance.
Buxton team called to assist Kinder with the evacuation of a 52 year old male from Sheffield who slipped and sustained back and possible pelvic injuries following a fall on sheet ice whilst descending the Pennine Way. Kinder team had originally been called earlier to the incident but called for additional assistance when an RAF Seaking was unable to land due to fog. The casualty was evacuated by stretcher to Lee House using the new team landrover to light the path for the stretcher party.
Buxton Edale snatch squad called to evacuate a 58 year old male from Millers Dale who had slipped on ice in the gorge at the top of the clough whilst out walking with his dog. The casualty who had sustained a suspected dislocation of the knee had to lower himself down the gulley until he managed to get a mobile signal. The casualty was treated on site by team members before being evacuated on a stretcher using rope rescue to the top of the gulley where he was evacuated to Chesterfield by air ambulance.
Dog handler and navigator called to assist Woodhead MRT and Edale MRT with an ongoing search for a vulnerable male in the Warncliffe Woods/Don Valley Area of Sheffield. We were stood down en route when the missing person turned up at his home address.
