East Midlands Ambulance Service contacted mountain rescue to inform it that an air ambulance had been directed to a 62 female casualty on Combs Moss.  The casualty, one of a rambling club group, was on the western side of Combs Moor above Allstone Lea Farm and was believed to have suffered a fractured leg.

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team together with Glossop, Kinder and Edale MRTs called late on a Sunday night following the report of two overdue walkers on a moorland stretch of the Pennine Way.  Six search dogs, including Megan & Cap, were also called to look for the two 51 year old females walking the final leg of the Pennine Way between Crowden and Edale.

It has still to be determined whether this incident was a malicious hoax or the product of a disturbed mind shouting for attention but it resulted in over forty mountain rescuers tramping the Peak District’s eastern rock outcrop edges throughout Saturday night and Sunday morning.
