A joint Edale & Buxton Snatch Squad call-out to a fallen climber in the Robin Hood’s Buttress area of the gritstone climbing edge.

The casualty, male from Sheffield, was treated for head injuries at the scene before being stretchered and evacuated to hospital by the Yorkshire Air-ambulance.

Bretton Clough, Abney

Buxton and Edale teams called to Bretton Clough following the report of a female walker having sustained serious lower leg injuries. 

The casualty was airlifted by an air-ambulance as the teams arrived on site.  No further details yet available.

Pease Hill, Ripley

Buxton search dog Zak called with handler Nick Smith to assist in a search of a semi-urban area of Ripley following the report of a missing 93 year old lady.  Whilst the night was relatively warm and dry an early find probably saved this lady’s life.

The search was being co-ordinated by Derby MRT and three Peak District SARDA dogs were called to assist.  The lady, who had last been seen about 20.00 hours the previous evening, was known to be in a confused state and Nick with Search Dog Zak was tasked to search an area of parkland close to the lady’s home.

Hollins Cross, Mam Tor Ridge

A joint team call-out for Edale and Buxton MRTs to assist a fell runner competing in a local race along the ridge between Mam Tor and Lose Hill.  Seventeen team members responded to what was first thought to be an injury but which transpired to be a medical condition.  The casualty was assisted from the ridge by team members to a waiting ambulance but was allowed home after examination by  paramedics.

Three Shires Head

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called at 19.55 to an incident at Three Shires Head, which as the name suggests, is the border of Cheshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

A 19 year old girl from Congleton had been one of a group of youngsters enjoying the sunshire when she fell and sustained leg and back injuries.  The remoteness of the position caused some delay in the first ambulance crew reaching the casualty.  The delay was compounded by a request for an air-ambulance which was finally deemed to be unavailable.  At that time mountain rescue was called and the team responded with twenty members approaching from the …
