Macclesfield

Whilst out fund-raising, team members were called to assist a man who had collapsed in the street.

The casualty, a 68 year old man from Macclesfield, was suffering with a medical condition and attended to by team members until the ambulance service arrived. He was then conveyed to hospital.

Poole’s Cavern, Buxton

Joint Buxton Edale snatch squad responded to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service with injured male in the steep woodland area of Poole’s Cavern Country Park.

The male casualty, from Bakewell, was carrying out woodland management activity in Grinlow Woods. He sustained multiple injuries to his left leg and was treated on site by ambulance paramedics before being stretchered by team members to a waiting ambulance for onward travel to hospital.

Lathkill Dale

Buxton Edale teams in a joint snatch squad to attend a collapsed male in a steep limestone dale.

The casualty, a 63 year old man from Wakefield, was ascending a slope from Lathkill Dale with a rambling group when he collapsed. His companions provided CPR until the air ambulance arrived. As the ambulance was able to land adjacent to the site of the incident, the team was stood down on arrival.

The casualty was evacuated by Yorkshire Air Ambulance to a hospital in Sheffield.  Sadly, he did not survive.

Our condolences go to the gentleman’s friends and family.

Cales Dale, Monyash

A joint Buxton and Edale snatch squad turned out to assist the East Midlands Ambulance Service with an injured walker in a steep limestone valley, leading into Lathkill Dale.

The casualty, a 51 year old female, had slipped on rocks at the entrance to Cales Dale. With suspected wrist and lower leg /ankle injuries, the lady was treated by paramedics on site, then carried by team members on a stretcher to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance waiting nearby for evacuation to hospital.
