Goldden Clough, Kinder Scout

A joint Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue Team snatch squad was called to Edale village on Saturday afternoon, following reports of an injured walker on Kinder Scout.

We located a 64 year old male from Rotherham at the top of Golden Clough. He was joining the Southern Edge path when he slipped, falling about 2 metres onto boulders. The gentleman sustained leg and head injuries.

The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance had also responded, landing on the Kinder Plateau some distance away. The casualty was treated on site by the air ambulance doctor and carried on a stretcher by team …

Chrome Hill

On Sunday afternoon, Buxton Mountain Rescue Team were called to Chrome Hill, near Glutton Bridge to assist the ambulance service who had been called to an injured hill walker, whose exact location was unknown.

The casualty, a 67 year old woman from Salford, was located on the north west face of Chrome Hill by team members. As by this time the North West Air Ambulance had arrived, it was aircraft paramedics who provided treatment on site for a suspected fractured ankle.

Long Eaton

Search Dog, Zak, with handler, Nick Smith, called with another Peak District Search Dog to assist Derby MRT to search a 4 mile section of canal at Long Eaton for a vulnerable 43 year old female who had been reported missing.

Nothing was found. However, as the search teams were de-briefing, the Police informed search control that the female had been located safe and well outside of the search areas.
