Solomon's Temple (Grinlow Tower) Buxton

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called at 16.00 hours by East Midlands Ambulance Service following the report a someone having fallen from the top of  a well known monument, Solomon’s Temple in Grinlow Country Park.
As team members arrived, ambulance paramedics were already on scene and treating the casualty and the Derbyshire, Leicester and Rutland Air-ambulance was just landing.  The 15 year old boy, on holiday with his family from Derby had fallen 20 feet from the top sustaining possible back injuries.  Following on …

Lud’s Church, Gradbach area.

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called by North West Ambulance Service to an incident at Lud’s Church, a natural rock feature at Back Forest near Gradbach.

On arrival the team located an 8 year old boy from Warrington, Cheshire.  The youth had been walking with his family around the top of Luds Church when he fell approximately 10 metres through the undergrowth into the chasm.  The boy sustained several injuries after hitting the rock face on the way down.  Lud’s Church is a deep chasm on the forest floor with sheer cliff walls either side, a well known local landmark and reputably …

Rivelin Valley, Sheffield

Buxton Search Dog Megan with handler, Dave Mason, called by South Yorkshire Police to join forty members of Edale and Woodhead Rescue Teams in The Rivelin Valley, Sheffield.  Four other search dogs were also involved in trying to locate a female in the dense woodland area.  After two hours the woman was located by Search Dog Flash of Edale team.  Suffering from hypothermia the casualty was carried to a waiting ambulance for transfer to hospital.

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called to assist Derbyshire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service dealing with a despondent female in Tideswell Dale.   The casualty was helped to an ambulance for transport to hospital.
