Shutlingsloe, Wildboarclough

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called to support West Midlands Ambulance Service and an air-ambulance dealing with an elderly patient with a minor head injury near to the summit of Shutlingsloe.

When team members arrived the air-ambulance was already in attendance and had been able to land close to the casualty.   So there was little for team members to do other than walk back down to Wildboarclough.

The Knab, Edale Valley

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team, along with neighbouring Edale MRT, were called to assist a lady and her mother reported to be injured in the vicinity of Edale.

The couple had undertaken a good day’s walk over some testing terrain but unfortunately it was on one of the latter easier sections that a simple stumble caused a fall and a broken wrist.

Haddon Fields, Bakewell.

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called along with Edale MRT following the report of an injured walker in the fields opposite Haddon Hall.

The casualty, a 19 year old girl from Southport, had been walking with family when a simple trip resulted in a suspected fracture of the lower leg.  Following treatment by a rescue team paramedic, the casualty was carried back to the ambulance waiting at Haddon Hall.

Hoffman Quarry, Harpur Hill

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service with a casualty from Chapel en le Frith.

The 74 year gentleman was recovering from a recent hip operation and was out for a short walk to aid his recuperation.  Unfortunately a stumble caused him to fall on to the hip resulting in severe pain.
