Our Own Angel of the North
He may not thank me for calling him that but anyone who spends months training, travels halfway up the Country and then runs 13.1 miles just to raise money for the team is an Angel.
Bruce Taylor of Taddington is no stranger to the BUPA Great North Run having taken part in 2008. He also ran in the London Marathon in 2009 raising sponsorship for the rescue team. Now, fitter and leaner, he is ready to put the running shoes on again and attempt to beat his personal 2.00 hr target. Bruce will join around 54,000 other participants on the day making their way from Newcastle to South Shields.
Bruce said, “I like to support charities and Buxton MRT is a very worthwhile cause. I admire rescue teams for the work they do as volunteers.”
Bruce has plenty of time for training as the event is not until September but that also means there is plenty of time to support him and raise as much money as possible. Please go to Bruce’s JustGiving page to make an encouraging donation and make all his months of effort worthwhile.
We send a great big “Thank You” to Bruce for choosing to help Buxton MRT and we all wish the best of luck in the event
