Many people put their imagination and ingenuity – not to mention sheer effort – to work in order to support the team. We surely would struggle for operating funds without such loyal support from our local community. So it is with much appreciation and pride that we list our supporters here.
James Martin, our indomitable junior, puts his energy into yet another long-distance walk. This year the challenge is the 85 miles along the Dales Way from Ilkley in the Yorkshire Dales National Park to Windermere in the Lake District. Planned for Aug. The best of luck, James.
Mr & Mrs Blane, Buxton for hosting a garden party in June to raise funds for the team in addition to Blythe House Hospice.
Visitors to Buxworth Well Dressings. Raised a tidy sum in the early summer and donated the proceeds.
Students attending Macclesfield College. A small group with special learning needs and participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, made an especially magnificent contribution in June.
Students at Aldercar Community Language College, Langley Mill. As part of a National Curriculum initiative, organised an event which raised a considerable sum of money and met all the requirements of the Ofsted Inspectors.
Chinley to John O’Grouts in two amazing Reliant Robins. Raised money in May for Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air-ambulance as well as Buxton Mountain Rescue Team.
Honorable mentions to traders who have/are supporting us this year include:
Customers and staff of Santander, Buxton branch Voted for the team as recipients of funds in the Community Chest.
Staff and customers of Marks and Spencer, Buxton branch as part of a nation-wide company effort, the “100 days of fundraising”, will be doing a bag-pack AND a 250 mile sponsored cycle ride (static). Phew!
Lime Tree Park, caravan and camp site, Buxton. Plan to host to a series of small events throughout the year, the proceeds of which will go to the team.
