Teams Join in Party to Celebrate 50 Years Together.

Its not just the 50th anniversary of Buxton Team, it’s also 50 years since the foundation of the Peak District Mountain Rescue PDMRO 50th 1Organisation.

And to celebrate members from all seven teams got together for a special party at Lee Green near Matlock.  The day started with a range of activities including a high-ropes event and a big swing.  Despite a terrible weather forecast the thunder storms held off for most of the day with the down pours arriving just as everyone was lining up for a big outdoor photograph.  However, a swift move indoors saved the day.  Presentations were made to the few members active in 1964 and still playing their part in today’s rescue service.  Then it was all burgers, bangers and beer.

PDMRO 50th 3.The sun came out in time for a “stretcher challenge” involving lots of water and a few other silly games only understood by those who thought them up!

As the day turned into evening music was supplied by a live band and the beer kept flowing.

It was a great day and a rare opportunity for friends and families to socialise with other teams.   Buxton sends a huge a “Thank You” to those who spent months organising the event.

Scary photo left!  Picture of team members printed on a tablecloth!
