New Year call out

The New Year started with Buxton Mountain Rescue’s first call out of the year.
At 14:29 on Monday 1st January, the team was called out to assist an injured walker in the Temple Fields area of Buxton.
A local gentleman had set out for an afternoon walk when he, unfortunately, slipping aggravating an old injury. The team despatched two response vehicles to rendezvous with team members on Green Lane, who were directed to the casualty with the appropriate response equipment.
After initial assessment and treatment by Mountain Rescue trained casualty carers, the gentleman was made comfortable on the team’s stretcher and transferred to easier ground before the onward journey to the Buxton Cottage Hospital Minor Injuries Unit in a team vehicle.
The team then returned to base to clean and repack equipment.
We’d like to thank all of the 17 team members who responded to today’s incident.
