Message from Mountain Rescue England & Wales and Buxton Mountain Rescue Team

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team ask you to please read the important message below from Mountain Rescue England & Wales.

It is absolutely vital that we continue to take the government guidelines regarding travel and exercise very seriously. Whilst we have been greatly comforted to see the majority of people doing just that, we too have been disappointed to see a selfish minority still travelling to the Peak District National Park and carry out outdoor activities – not just walkers, but other users of outdoor spaces too. Sadly, some local residents have also been also ignoring the guidelines.

Whilst we are proud of our contribution to the emergency effort, we do not wish our volunteers’ lives (and those of our families & colleagues) to be put at risk unnecessarily.

Let’s all do our part, so that this will be over as quickly as possible and we can all head out to the countryside once more.

Wherever you are, please enjoy your Easter.
