Freemasons support Buxton Mountain Rescue Team

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team received a cheque for £500 from the High Peak Lodge of Freemasons No: 1952. The Lodge meets in Buxton with members from the surrounding areas including Buxton, Chapel, Whaley Bridge and Tideswell.

The Lodge runs a charitable fund which is financed by regular donations from its members and social events. Its members can suggest any local voluntary charitable organisation to support and on this occasion chose the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team. An additional cheque for £250 was received from the Derbyshire County Charity Committee of Freemasons, as applied for by the High Peak Lodge.

Ian Hurst, Chairman said “We are very grateful to the High Peak Lodge of Freemasons and the Derbyshire Committee for their very generous donations to the Team. The team has been very busy already this year and this money will be spent to benefit those we are called to assist”.
