Derbyshire County Council scheme helps Buxton Mountain Rescue

On 21st December the team was visited by Derbyshire County Councillor Jim Perkins. He was there to present the team with a cheque for £360 from the ‘Community Leadership Grant Scheme’. The cheque was accepted on behalf of the team by Geoff Sumner a long standing team member.
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team are extremely grateful for this generous grant. We are a registered charity and totally dependent on donations from the public. It costs over £30,000 per year just to maintain the rescue service. The grant will be put towards the cost of an upgrade to the teams older analogue radios which are being replaced with a digital radio communications system fit for the future.
The grant from the Community Leadership Scheme will certainly be put to good use in the service of the community.
