Incident report

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was called to assist our neighbours at Edale Mountain Rescue Team as is usual for midweek “snatch” incidents.

A walker had taken a tumble on the path leading up from the car park at the base of Winnats sustaining a painful lower leg injury. Edale team members already in the area were first on scene and were able to provide the initial medical treatment before the casualty was placed on a mountain rescue stretcher and carried to the road.

After further assessment of the injury, the casualty was helped into the vehicle of a friend and driven to hospital for further treatment.

Vehicles and equipment were then cleaned before returning to base for the next callout. We wish the casualty a swift recovery and return to the delights of the Peak District National Park.
