Incident report

While enjoying a trip to the Treak Cliff Cavern a visitor to the Peak District National Park felt unwell and after talking with an off-duty nurse it was felt that medical treatment was necessary.

East Midlands Ambulance Service were called, and due to the location of the unwell person, a request was made for the help of mountain rescue.

As is normal for a mid-week callout both Edale Mountain Rescue Team Team and Buxton Mountain Rescue Team were contacted, and vehicles and team members were soon on scene.

An Edale MRT team doctor made the first assessment of the casualty’s condition, and it was felt the casualty was able to walk with assistance from team members back to the road.
