Incident report

A group of visitors to the Peak District National Park set off from Topley Pike towards Wye Dale for a walk along the Monsal Trail. Unfortunately, while descending a steep, muddy and slippery path, one member of the group suffered a painful ankle dislocation.

The East Midlands Ambulance Service crew were the first to arrive on the scene. When the team members arrived at the Topley Pike layby, they quickly gathered the appropriate equipment and headed down to the casualty site.

After administering pain relief, the casualty was carefully placed onto a Mountain Rescue stretcher. The team members then moved the casualty to Blackwell Cottages and Blackwell Mill Cycle hire, where the ambulance was waiting to transport the casualty to the hospital.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the residents of Blackwell Cottages for their patience and understanding as the car park was temporarily blocked while the casualty was safely transferred to the ambulance.
