Incident report

A group of friends were enjoying a Friday afternoon walk around Rainow, while dodging the showers. Unfortunately, one of them slipped on the rocky, muddy and uneven ground and injured her lower leg. A 999 call was made to our colleagues at North West Ambulance Service who located the casualty and started treatment.

Due to the rough terrain, the team was called to provide assistance with the evacuation. Team members arrived at the casualty site and were soon carefully placing the casualty onto a mountain rescue stretcher. The lady was carried the short distance to the road, and waiting ambulance for onward transport to hospital.

The team would like to thank the residents who helped with the parking of team members’ vehicles; little acts of kindness and support such as this are really appreciated by team members, when the main aim is to assist the injured person as quickly as possible.

After the incident, Team members then set about cleaning the equipment, as per Covid-19 policies, and packed it all back on to the vehicles ready for the next callout.

We hope the casualty is soon out enjoying the countryside again.
