Incident report

A mid afternoon call to Pooles Cavern, Buxton came in from East Midlands Ambulance Service to assist them with a casualty at the Country Park. The casualty had been in one of the wooded areas of the country park when they were suffered an injury.

An East Midlands Ambulance paramedic was quickly on scene to treat the casualty and, due to the steep uneven ground, requested our assistance to help move the casualty safely to the car park.

The team arrived quickly and took the relevant equipment to the incident location in the woods. The casualty was placed in a vacuum mattress on a mountain rescue stretcher for a short carry to the car park and waiting ambulance, which then transported them to hospital.

All the equipment that was used was cleaned in readiness for the next callout.

The team would like to thank members of Buxton Civic Association and Go Ape Buxton for their assistance, and for marshalling traffic in the car park.

We wish the casualty a speedy recovery
