Incident report

An early tea time call out for the team after a group of friends were enjoying a rather damp walk in the Peak District yesterday and one of them slipped on a muddy path and injured their lower leg. The person could not continue with their walk and called for mountain rescue assistance.

With night falling both Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue Team responded to the call assist the casualty. Once the casualty had been given pain relief, and the injured leg splinted to ensure it remained immobile, they were placed on a mountain rescue stretcher and carried to the road head, for onward transport to hospital.

Team members then returned to base to clean the muddy kit, and wipe it down in line with our current Covid-19 protocols, ready for the next callout.

We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
