Incident report

The team was called out by Derbyshire Constabulary, to a rock climber who had taken a fall from a height of 7 metres hurting his lower back as he landed.

Team members met at Miller’s Dale station car park and made their way to the casualty along the Monsal Trail, before descending to the river and reaching the casualty’s location.

The team provided first aid treatment then carefully loaded the casualty onto a vacuum mattress placed on top of the mountain rescue stretcher.

The casualty was evacuated along the river and over the stepping stones then back along the path to reach the Monsal Trail where the casualty was handed over to East Midlands Ambulance Service for the onward journey to Sheffield Northern General Hospital.

Team members then returned home to dry out their soggy boots!

We would like to wish the casualty all the best for a speedy recovery. #peakdistrict#mountainrescue#buxton
