Incident report

The team was called out to assist East Midlands Ambulance Servicewith a fallen walker near Ashford in the Water. Due to it being a weekday, Edale Mountain Rescue Team was also called as part of our joint snatch agreement. This means that the closest mountain rescue team members are able to assist, irrespective as to which team they are members of.

The female casualty had been out walking with her family through the woods when she slipped and took a short tumble down a slope. Both teams were quickly on scene with the ambulance crew, and after assessment, the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance was requested to attend.

The casualty was treated before being placed on a mountain rescue stretcher and carried to the waiting helicopter to be flown to hospital.

We wish the lady a swift recovery.
