Incident report

The team were called to assist a walker who had slipped on a path alongside the River Goyt sustaining a painful lower leg injury.

The initial location showed the casualty was in the Shining Tor area, but this was later updated to the Goyt’s Clough area.

After the walker was located one of the team’s paramedics was able to assess the injury and provide pain relief before fitting a box splint to immobilise the leg. The injured person was then placed on a mountain rescue stretcher and carried across the river to the road for re-assessment by the paramedic and to await the ambulance.

Vehicles and kit were then cleaned and returned to base.

Our best wishes go to the casualty for a swift recovery.
