Incident report

An evening incident for Edale and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams, together with Search and Rescue Dogs on the hills above Edale.

Two men, aged 23 and 24, from Letchworth and London, had spent the day walking part of the Edale skyline, including the Great Ridge, and the northern edges of Kinder Scout.

They intended to return to Edale via the Southern Edges of Kinder Scout but became dehydrated and disorientated whilst crossing the plateau and called for assistance. Contact was made by mobile phone and they described the countryside around them. This suggested they were in the Grindsbrook Gorge area and team sections were deployed. The two men were located near Half Way House and escorted to Edale.

Neither required any medical treatment.
