Incident report
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called by East Midlands Ambulance Service following the report of a casualty having sustained a knee injury.
A 28 year old local lady was walking her dog in the woods when she slipped and fell. Immediate medical treatment was carried out by team members assisted by an off-duty paramedic who happened to also be in the woods. The lady was then gently placed onto a rescue stretcher for the short evacuation to Grin Low car-park where an ambulance was waiting for the onwards trip to a Stockport hospital.
This call-out marked the last call for the team’s old Control Vehicle which just hours later departed for a new life with Severn Area Rescue Association.
