Incident report

A joint call for Buxton and Edale Teams to Duper Lane, Abney on Thursday afternoon.

A lady was walking on Abney Moor with a group and stumbled, sustaining a suspected broken ankle. She was treated on site by rescue team members, who gave pain relief and splinted her injured leg. After placing her into a vacuum mattress which provided support and warmth, she was evacuated by rescuers on a mountain rescue stretcher to Abney village, where the land ambulance was waiting.

The casualty was then transferred to hospital for further treatment.
