As team members were heading back to base from incident 39/2023, they spotted a person walking along the roadside towards Buxton.  The weather had deteriorated and he was wet and cold, and there is no footpath along the road.  They stopped to speak to him and found he was very wet and very cold (otherwise ok), so not wanting him to potentially get hypothermia or knocked down, they gave him a lift to the Market Place and dropped off outside Sainsbury’s.

Pilsbury Castles

Call out to assist Derby Mountain Rescue.

A local Derby MRT member was first on scene and found two men had been out walking in the area and had stopped for lunch when one of the men (79-years-old) fell from a ledge tumbling around 8-10ft. Along with some bruising, the male had suffered several lacerations to his scalp which were still bleeding. His wounds were dressed and bandaged on scene and he was escorted to the team vehicle and driven back to the RV where he was checked over by two team DRs …

Dove Holes

Whilst attending the coronation event at Dove Holes, team members were approached to attend a line dancer who had fallen and was on the ground injured.

Casualty given pain relief, arm splinted and taken to hospital by car.

Buxton 

While team members were attending the stall a member of the ‘Rock Choir’ approached the team to ask for assistance with one of their singers who had collapsed.  Having swapped phone numbers with the event first aid team paramedic, Mel rang them to ask them to meet her at the casualty, outside Argos.

The lady was dizzy and nauseous but sat on a chair and felt faint.  While a history was starting to be taken the event medic arrived and took over.  A member of the public had rung for an EMAS ambulance who attended. …
