High Peak Trail, Hurdlow

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service with a 64 year old female on the High Peak Trail, near Hurdlow.

The High Peak Trail follows a dis-used railway line. When a key-holder for the gate which keeps out trafffic was located it gave the ambulance direct access to the casualty site.  This saved a kilometre carry-out and the rescue team was stood down before most had arrived.

The casualty, from Buxton, had stumbled and sustained a hip injury in the fall.  She was taken by ambulance to a Macclesfield hospital.
