Call out for SARDA to assist Derby Mountain Rescue in a search of a canal and river area at Sandiacre after a car belonging to a 70 year old man was found.
Search Dog, Zak, with his handler, Nick Smith, from Buxton MRT responded along with John Coombs and Search Dog, Biscuit, from Edale MRT. They searched an area of land between the River Erewash and the Erewash Canal.
The missing male was not located within the search area, although both dogs had indicated on the canal immediately below a set of lock gates. This was subsequently followed up by Police divers, who recovered the body of the missing male.
